Aboutthis Opportunity The Director of Systemic Risk works with a wide variety of internal and external partners (including subject matter experts within DTCC's Global Chief Risk Office as well as other departments, executive management, regulators, auditors and risk management professionals of member firms) to execute and enhance recurring key activities and deliverables aimed at identifying, monitoring and assessing systemic risks lead cross-functional projects that are crafted to improve DTCC's resilience and further the SRO's overall mandate. Position Summary: Maintaining a comprehensive portfolio of macroeconomic hypothetical scenarios for stress testing purposes, making scenario updates on an ongoing basis in light of current developments, and communicating these updates to executive management and internal risk management committees. Producing systemic risk reports that provide updates on the overall direction or state of systemic risk as it relates to DTCC's entities and/or clients. Maintaining a comprehensive inventory of threats to financial stability and assessing both the probability and severity of the risks in light of developments. Ongoing monitoring of macroeconomic reports and financial stability analyses published by central banks, domestic and international regulators, as well as other organizations. Daily monitoring of, and reporting on, market events, as well as regulatory and other industry developments that may have an impact on market volatility or financial stability. Coordinating and moderating meetings of DTCC's Systemic Risk Roundtable, a group of financial services professionals who meet quarterly to discuss risk management topics. Prioritizing and analyzing the results of the DTCC Systemic Risk Barometer survey, which serves as an annual pulse check to monitor emerging trends on significant risks that may impact the safety, resiliency and stability of the global financial system. Preparing ad-hoc analyses and talking points for executive management ahead of external conferences or other industry events. Preparing contents for, and assisting in the organization of, the annual DTCC Client Risk Forum. Leading cross-functional projects crafted to improve DTCC's resilience to the potential impact of systemic shocks and other potentially disruptive events. Contributing to external white papers and internal thematic papers on systemic risk issues. Working with financial industry risk management organizations to promote DTCC's thought leadership profile. Analyzing the systemic risk implications of new business initiatives within DTCC in partnership with product management and other subject matter experts. Providing updates to regulators on SRO initiatives. Participating in audits and regulatory exams on an as-needed basis and executing action plans crafted to address findings and other issues: Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of related experience in one or more of the following risk management areas: market, liquidity, operational and/or credit risk - specific experience in stress testing and the construction of hypothetical scenarios would be a plus. Outstanding analytical skills - must be able to process and synthesize reports and other sources of information sources quickly and confidently to identify key issues; problem solver and innovative thinker with the ability to convert risk management issues into actionable plans. Excellent writing skills - ability to summarize complex information clearly, logically and succinctly for a variety of purposes and stakeholders (writing sample required). Excellent presentation skills - ability to present to a wide array of internal and external audiences, including senior executives and committees, as well as regulators, auditors and clients. Communication and interpersonal skills - ability to communicate effectively and convincingly to get buy-in and active cooperation from executives outside of SRO; ability to work in various teams; experience managing a staff is a plus.
