The Systems Engineering Center (SEC) is seeking strong, technically sound engineering leaders committed and passionate about creating innovative, cost-effective solutions for complex remote sensing applications. The successful candidate will be a member of the Space Systems team and will provide engineering guidance for Space Vehicle Assembly, Integration, and Test tasks. This position may include assignments in the areas of system verification and validation.

We are seeking a System Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) Lead who brings prime mission-level system leadership and engineering knowledge to our programs. The successful candidate will have prior experience and/or knowledge across all subsystems of the satellite program. Key segments of interest include the space vehicle, ground system, and launch vehicle. The candidate should have experience with space vehicle integration, launch systems integration and logistics, as well as early on-orbit operations and test and possess a detailed understanding of the design based on hands-on experience.

Required Skills:
Minimum of 10+ years of systems engineering experience
Experience leading integration and test activities for space systems
Demonstrated experience interfacing with subcontractors
Experience with a dynamic collaborative environment including multi-functional and cross-site teams
Experience in support of generating Verification Compliance Requirements Matrices, Requirements Verification Plans, Test Plans, Test Requirements Documents, Test Procedures and Requirements Sell-off Documents
Experience with Environmental Test Planning, test methods and practices
Experience with the technical reviews (PDR, CDR etc)
Experience with supporting formal reviews such as Test Readiness Review (TRR), Failure Review Board (FRB), Consent to Ship Review (CTSR)
Experience with developing and presenting technical briefings to the customer and company leadership
Demonstrated proficiency in analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication capability, and ability to work in an integrated product team environment
Demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills
Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-discipline team
Experience in proposal development including creations of Basis-of-Estimates
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance within one year of hire

Desired Skills:
Experience supporting/sharing engineering leadership responsibilities
Experience in proposal development including Basis of Estimates
Experience in Operations and Factory environments including: procedure development, test, training, transition planning, installation, and deployment
Demonstrated ability to perform test equipment trouble-shooting and failure diagnosis with directly-relevant experience
Experience developing and operating STE
Experience with electrical design integration - interpreting signal lists, Electrical Interconnect Diagrams (EICDs), and intra and inter box knowledge
Experience in test equipment calibration, instrumentation, and environmental stimulus application (vibration and thermal profiles)
Understanding of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) computer architecture, interconnect/interfaces, and standard communication protocols
Proficient in Matlab, C++, Python, LabVIEW or related programming languages
Proficient with standard industry tools like DOORS, Visio, Mentor Graphics, AutoCAD and/or Test Stand
Familiarity with cost and schedule management using a government approved Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Experience supporting system level assembly, integration, and test (AI&T), including identifying necessary test equipment
Prior Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) or line engineering management experience
Experience working in a space laboratory performing hardware, software, & firmware integration and test activities

Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related technical discipline (preferably Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Software Engineering
