JOB SUMMARYThe purpose of this job is to safeguard Charter's facilities, employees and visitors by maintaining a high visibility presence while providing exceptional customer service and assistance to its employees and visitors to the location. This role will be responsible for conducting unarmed patrol of the location(s) on foot and/or in a vehicle, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points and permitting entry. This job is responsible for preventing loss and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policy and procedures. This job requires an ability to manage multiple priorities, complex situations, a diverse team of employees and contractors and Charter site requirements, ensuring quality service and customer deliverables are met.Hours: Mon-Fri 10am-6pm or 11am-7pm MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise the day to day physical security operations of assigned site Supervise a team of security officers including hiring/selection, scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, development and supportEnsure Charter Communications is provided with high quality security services to protect people and propertyAssist in access control, perimeter security, asset protection initiatives, and emergency evacuation training and employee preparedness effortsOccasional supervision of special events on and off campus Ensure that required security training is conducted, completed, monitored, measured and refreshed.Conduct site inspections of officers; to include uniforms, knowledge and post orders. Document inspections in a report.Assist in new hire on boarding proceduresServe as a backup to local management as-needed, willing to work irregular hours and weekendsServe as backup to PSO positions when needed to ensure coverage is maintainedRespond to security incidents on campus Greet, process and provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional mannerPerform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicleWatch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazardsSound alarms and/or notify first responders (police, fire, and rescue) in case of emergency or presence of unauthorized personsObserve departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate requirementsInvestigate and prepare reports on physical security incidents and suspicious activitiesPerform other duties as requested REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishPrior law enforcement/military/fire service experience preferredMust be at least 21 years old Must possess a valid Driver's License Must have access to reliable transportationMust be willing and able to work flexible schedulesAbility to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitorsProficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Effective oral and written communication skillsAbility to interact cordially and communicate with the publicActive listening skillsAbility to assess and evaluate situations effectivelyAbility to identify critical issues quickly and accuratelyAttention to detailAbility to successfully complete all training required for the positionAbility to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior militaryMust adhere to Charter's policies when handling sensitive or confidential information Must adhere to Charter's Integrity Policy and Code of Conduct Direct experience working with access control systems (preference for RS2), guard tour, video systems or other security-related technologySuperior proficiency using office software/computer skills (re: MS Office, PPT, Visio, and Excel) EducationAssociate's degree or higher in Business Management, Criminal Justice or related field Preferred EducationSecurity Management Certification a plus Graduate of a law enforcement training academy Related Work Experience Number of Years Physical and/or Corporate Security related experience 4+Leadership or supervisory experience 1+ Preferred Work ExperiencePrior law enforcement/military/fire service WORKING CONDITIONS Office environment Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heatMajor Activity: Walking and standing for significant periods of time GSE-1 293479BR
