Immediate Full time opening for a Superintendent on a significant project based at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington VA. This is a long-term project starting immediately! This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience managing all phases of general building with emphasis on site construction with background in military or US Army Corp of Engineers projects in excess of $5 million. Individual must be a team player with a proven track record on similar projects of scope and size with an emphasis on quality, budget and profitability, safety, subcontractor relationships and labor management. Degree in CM or long-term craft experience an advantage. Competitive Salary and Comprehensive Benefits Package, Relocation Assistance.

Essential Functions

    • Ensure assigned project(s) are kept on schedule and within budget while meeting client needs and delivering a quality project.
    • Identify potential issues and ensure timely decisions are made.
    • Plan, schedule and coordinate in-house from inception to completion.
    • Ensure proper document control and record keeping.
    • Work closely with quality/safety personnel to facilitate project construction process.
    • Assist in schedule coordination and potential change recommendations.
    • Guide project to completion to ensure proper close-out.


    • Minimum of three (3) years of successful superintendent experience on project(s) of similar size and scope.
    • Minimum 24-hour USACE 385-1-1 training for managers and supervisors.
    • OSHA 30-hour construction safety training, minimum requirement.
    • USACE Quality Control Certificate in hand/eligible is an advantage.

Required Skills

    • Must possess the ability to handle multiple activities.
    • Read plans and comprehends scope of projects assigned.
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications and public contract requirements.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, craftsmen, unions, subcontracts and client.
    • Proficiency in use of a personal computer and software programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of construction software helpful.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
