A module design opportunity currently exists for a design engineer to join our fast paced microelectronics technology development organization as a Senior RF Module Design Engineer II. The Microelectronics Engineering and Technology (MET) department designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense and commercial applications and is a part of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. In this position, the chosen candidate will support the design, development, and transition to production of RF modules. He or she will lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers to design transmit and receive RF modules for radar applications and EW systems. The candidate will be responsible for supporting program proposals, initial concept development and being the technical lead during program execution. The candidate should have a strong understanding of RF and 3D electromagnetic modeling. A deep understanding of MMIC design & characterization as well as PCB/TFN circuit layout is required. The candidate should have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. In this role, the successful candidate is expected to have the following attributes: * Knowledge: Is an expert in the module design area and has strong knowledge of other related disciplines. * Problem Solving: Works to develop technical solutions to complex MMIC and module problems that require the use of ingenuity and resourcefulness. * Discretion: Works with minimal direction. Has the ability to determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. * Impact: Supports MMIC designers, module designers, packaging engineers, test engineers, and research and development teams to advance emerging technologies resulting in new product / business opportunities for Raytheon. * Liaison: Serves as a technical resource and represents the department as a technical contact to Raytheon as well as external customers. Candidate will be a team player and interact with all levels of the organization. Required Skills : * Minimum of 6 years of professional experience with ADS, HFSS and Autocad or similar. * Experience with Radar/EW system design architecture. * Demonstrated understanding of test parameters such as S-parameters, P1dB, noise figure, and TOI, and test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, and power meters/sensors. * Experience with design and manufacturing of Microelectronic assemblies. * Experience with design and manufacturing of GaAs/GaN MMICs. * Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Required Education : BS in Electrical Engineering or related science or engineering curriculum. Or 6+ years of experience in a similar role with a M.S. degree, or 4+ years of experience in a similar role with a PhD. This position can be a Salary Grade G09 or G10 based on the candidates qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. Ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
