Our mission is to make biology easier to engineer. Ginkgo is constructing, editing, and redesigning the living world in order to answer the globe's growing challenges in health, energy, food, materials, and more. Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms. In addition to the broad set of commercial projects that Ginkgo is developing, we've also rapidly adapted our platform to respond to COVID-19, working to optimize nucleic acid vaccine manufacturing, helping develop antibody therapeutics, and launching a full-scale testing service, Concentric by Ginkgo.To support these ambitious goals, we're seeking a finance leader to build the scaffolding of Ginkgo's financial planning and analysis. Our Strategic Finance Team has a broad mandate to establish Ginkgo's financial planning infrastructure, drive revenue, improve operational productivity, and support the business's most important functions. Therefore, by taking an entrepreneurial approach to FP&A, your expertise and credibility will drive the change that's needed to achieve our commercial, operational, and shareholder goals. Plus, with your ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, you'll implement right-sized software tools, decision-making processes, and communication flows that will enable Ginkgo's leaders to translate financial information into key corporate strategy.ResponsibilitiesLead: Build, manage and develop a world-class FP&A teamArchitect, execute, and communicate: Design the short-, medium- and long-term plan for how the finance system at Ginkgo will function. For each stage of maturity, define the operational and financial KPIs, communication rhythms, decision-making processes, and enabling software tools. Align stakeholders and implement a progressively more useful and comprehensive finance system in tandem with Ginkgo's strategic finance team and/or external consultants. Continuously drive improvements in simplicity, clarity, accuracy, and automation of financial reporting.Business partner: Collaborate with and influence Ginkgo's corporate functions (People Ops, Digital Technology, and others) to support planning, budgeting, reporting, investment decisions, and ad hoc business case analyses.
