The technical engineering manager will be a hands-on lead engineer with people leadership experience that excels in a dynamic, fast-moving, and agile environment and is passionate about developing high quality, high performance, and scalable software and teams. The candidate will work aside a team of seasoned engineers whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of the application health and ensure the on-time, quality delivery of software product releases. This position will be part of Bank Technology team at Schwab and focus on driving client-centricity, reducing time to market increasing efficiency. What you are good at Provide technical and people leadership to drive fast paced application support. Drive Agile based application support organization priorities and innovation. Hands-on application support and mentoring as necessary for all members of the team to ensure team success. Drive team performance, collaborates with all to achieve results, and thinks strategically. Work closely with development, product owner, technical partners and team members to collaborate on jira stories, design features, application bug fixes and prioritize tasks. Lead team in execution of application support and automation for deployments. Interface with product owner and key stakeholders in Project Management, Business, Development, QA and Technology Operations to ensure high quality delivery of software projects on time and budget . Identify technology risks and dependencies early to establish mitigation plans. Create and maintains artifacts for production support and deployment processes. Meet periodically with onshore and offshore developers and application support to review and improve processes. Utilize automated software tools and frameworks for deployments and on-going maintenance activities. Support integration and modernization efforts. What you have Required Skills Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similarequivalent area of study Minimum of 10 years of solid application and automation experience. Previous leadership experience of technical teams Exceptional experience and demonstrate proficiency in cloud-based technologies (Pivotal Cloud Foundry or AWS). Having experience in leading a data innovation and data technology function in the context of data as the product. Having experience with Web, APIs, Enterprise Batch Scheduler and DB engineering. Experience in capacity planning and management. Strong experience implementing and managing Web Service API(s) in a transaction processing environment. You should be comfortable in a fast-paced customer focused environment that continually embraces the latest technologies and techniques. Thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures. Self-motivated as well as creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for composing and delivering. Good understanding of latest Architecture and Development Standards and Guidelines Experience providing guidance, direction, and feedback to other technical staff in order to meet agreed upon objectives. Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for composing and delivering technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various level of technical and non-technical management. Proficient managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, geographically dispersed environment
