%26middot; Assist in national/international business development, marketing and sales efforts regarding Fire Investigation consulting.
%26middot; Prepare proposals and develop new business promptly to support the business.
%26middot; Collaborate with Building Science Solutions Group and testing managers to source and share client contacts and leads.
%26middot; Project management activities including planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, execution, and reporting. Manage project managers, including technical and scope/budget aspects.
%26middot; Monitor contract requirements, invoicing, receivables, and maintain acceptable profit margins.
%26middot; Participate in training and management of building science staff to assist on Fire Investigation consulting projects and opportunities.
%26middot; Write and execute necessary evidence-gathering, evidence retention, and related protocols for Fire Investigation consulting projects. Assume all fire investigations will lead to litigation.
%26middot; Perform forensic reviews of reports by others, laboratory analysis & reports, architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings and submittals pertaining to Fire Investigation requirements.
%26middot; Prepare accurate and concise reports for assigned projects.
%26middot; Coordinate effectively with local code officials/fire marshals/law enforcement personnel, attorneys, insurance investigators, fire remediation specialists, architects, engineers, consultants, and property owners, to incorporate relevant comments and recommendations into project reports and Findings.
%26middot; Procure equipment needed for on-site testing and analysis. Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained per manufacturer specs.
%26middot; Represent Intertek and contribute to knowledge base by teaching courses, giving lectures/webinars, and writing articles and technical papers.
%26middot; Consistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project team.
%26middot; Local and overnight travel, as required, for assigned projects and tasks. Travel could be frequent.
%26middot; Maintain enough workload/backlog to meet target staff utilization rates.

15+ years%26rsquo; experience in Fire Investigation consulting, preferred
%26middot; AAS, Fire Science or other related degree or equivalent, preferred
%26middot; BS in engineering/architecture, or other related degree, preferred
%26middot; Certification, International Association of Fire Investigators-Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI%26reg;), mandatory
%26middot; Certification, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress- Certified Fire Investigator (IFSAC-CFI), preferred
%26middot; Certification, National Association of Fire Investigators- Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (NAFI-CFEI) preferred
%26middot; Strong knowledge of fire investigations, fire dynamics, and legal procedures
%26middot; Strong knowledge of the construction process as it relates to fire development and fire Origin & Cause
%26middot; Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications related to fire investigations
%26middot; Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks
