Your impact as a Senior Associate, Intellectual Property Valuation Job Description: Contribute to the development of valuation approaches and models that address the specific needs of each project. Contribute to the formulation and execution of project work plans taking into account relevant deadlines, available team resources, and budgetary considerations. Train, coach, and supervise more junior team members. Perform research on specific companies, industries, technology trends, and other business subjects employing publicly available and subscription-only databases and other sources. Extract, analyze, and summarize historical financial data for specific companies and peer groups of companies using Capital IQ. Review and analyze financial statements and corporate SEC filings for data and information relevant to valuation analyses. Interview client personnel to gather data and information pertinent to valuation analyses. Design and construct Excel-based financial models for DCF-based valuations with advanced Excel features that enable quick and reliable assessment of alternative scenarios. Present research findings and valuation analysis conclusions to direct supervisor and other audiences verbally and in writing. Draft valuation reports for submission to clients and/or other external parties. Support the Aon IP Solutions team with special projects including, but not limited to, conducting internal training, drafting proposed statements of work for prospective client engagements, and participating in business development meetings with external parties. Represent the leadership and management of Aon IP Solutions in a way that mirrors the adopted mission, core values, and culture of Aon IP Solutions. Help drive Aon IP Solutions to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives. Represent attributes of stewardship, humility, integrity, trust. You Bring Knowledge and Expertise Required Experience: Keen attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and strong sense of ownership for work performed. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Proven ability to work with other team members and to interact effectively with individuals of various seniority levels. Clear and concise verbal and written communications skills. Ability to perform in a fast-paced, driven environment that requires responsiveness and high value-added contributions while handling multiple tasks simultaneously. 4-6+ years of IP valuation and/or IP damages experience constructing and analyzing valuation/damages models, with emphasis on DCF-based models. Command of IP valuation methodologies with extensive experience in the application of cost, market, and income approaches. Solid understanding of methodologies for determination of cost of funds, hurdle rates, and IRRs in a variety of contexts. Thorough understanding of the linkages between income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and substantial experience analyzing historical financial statements in 10Ks and other SEC filings. Substantial experience evaluating forward-looking financial projections for overall reasonableness and internal consistency. Extensive experience utilizing Capital IQ and/or Bloomberg for analyzing historical financial data from specific companies and peer groups of companies. Command of Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (including advanced features such as macros, pivot tables, and conditional formulas). Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or economics. Concentration or major in finance strongly preferred. Work towards master's degree in finance or business administration a plus.
