Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer I
Locations: Portland, OR
Job Type: Contract (9 months, Could turn into contract to hire)

Job Description:

Performs testing and analysis tasks on the overall architecture of hardware, software, and networking systems.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain test plans and procedures for system integration. Perform usability testing for total system performance, reliability, scalability, and security. Maintain a record of test progress and test results.
  • Write test cases or test scenarios that align to business requirements, functional specifications, release notes, use cases and/or user stories.
  • Test business applications following detailed test cases and scripts in an effort to identify software defects through manual or automated tests.
  • Identify, investigate, report and track defects to resolution.
  • Participate in multiple concurrent testing efforts.
  • Assist with departmental documentation as needed.
  • Provide clear and concise status back to project team and department management.
  • Provide input to Test Approaches, Test Plans and Release Findings according to department standards.
  • Ensure effective and continuous communication (both written and oral) takes place between QA and other departments.
  • Ensure accurate, timely and tested releases are implemented into the production environment.
  • Develop an understanding of Umpqua business applications and system components.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent work experience
  • 1 3 years of financial or banking experience.
  • Experience working with technology teams in a testing role.
  • Experience with testing methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously as needed.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to quickly learn new business applications.
  • Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.

  • Office environment no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.
