The NISC III Training Group (NTG) within Leidos Civil Group is looking for a mid-level project manager to join our team in Washington DC and support hte Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aircraft Certification Service (AIR). You will support the organization by managing projects and offering guidance to Instructional Systems Designers in the development of training materials.
Specific duties for the position include: Tracking budgets and schedules for training development projects. Providing consultation and recommendations to designers on innovative training solutions, as well as on effective and relevant curriculum development and delivery. Some design work is expected. The ideal candidate must be able to handle multiple mission critical projects from new development to sustainment. The candidate must have hands-on experience monitoring and controlling projects, and implementing complex, custom developed solutions while ensuring a quality outcome and setting customer expectations. The ideal candidate will act as an expert in the analysis and development of processes, procedures and methods to promote effective operations. This position will require the candidate to lead project planning, resource alignment, progress reporting, and troubleshooting. Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, and cost. Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource additions. Solves technical and non-technical problems throughout the life of the project, but tries to resolve problems during the design and planning phases whenever possible. Oversees and coordinates work performed by contractors. Provides timely and accurate information and status updates to project sponsors, end users, and management.
Required education / experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of related work experience may be substituted for a degree at the hiring managers discretion.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and excellence in writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting of customer-ready materials.
- At least 2 years supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) customer base.
- Experience using SharePoint sites.
