The State of North Dakota is looking for a Project Manager to join the Bank of North Dakota (BND) in partnership with North Dakota Information Technology. BND is seeking a dynamic individual to play a leadership role in managing the implementation of BND and statewide information technology projects. Summary of Work As a part of the State of ND s project management office (PMO), work for this position involves the application of project management principles, methodologies, standards, and best practices in leading and managing all phases of information technology projects. The successful Project manager candidate is responsible for performing project management duties on large, complex portfolios, programs, and projects for BND and the State of ND customers using established best practices, tools and guidelines. Projects may range in structure from traditionalwaterfall to various agilehybrid frameworks. Duties and Tasks Project planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, reporting and leadership Coordination of people, processes, resources and technologies as needed to deliver on-time and on-budget project results Effective communication skills and ability to build and maintain solid working relationships with staff, agency executives, legislators, consultants, and other stakeholders Facilitation of procurements, and negotiating and overseeing contract details Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts? Develop, update, and publish project charters, project plans (e.g., communication plan, risk plan, project governance plan), schedules, cost and time estimates, status updates and project documentation Assist in the development of project goals, objectives, milestones, and functionalfeature requirements Establish and manage project cost, schedule, budget, variance, and other reporting information in the state s Microsoft Project Online-based enterprise system?? Participate in negotiating contracts with vendors, consultants, contractors, and outsourcing services Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, computer or management information systems, project management, business administration, or a closely related field, and four years of current and progressive related work experience that involved business process analysis, project plan development, group facilitation, and management of staffresources or a bachelor s degree with a major in another field and five years of related work experience as described above. Note The BND will attempt to fill this position at the above level, if unable to find candidates who meet the above outlined minimum qualifications the hiring authority reserves the right to under fill this position as a Project Manager I. Project Manager I - Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, computer or management information systems, project management, business administration, or a closely related field, and three years of current and progressive related work experience that involved business process analysis, project plan development, group facilitation, and management of staffresources or a bachelor s degree with a major in another field and four years of related work experience as described above. Preference will be given to candidates that hold the Project Management Institute s (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Credential.
