Precision Assembler II

Precision Technologies, the CNC MECHANICAL MANUFACTURING division of Benchmark Electronics, is looking for a career-minded PRECISION ASSEMBLER II for our Concord, CA location. Our clients are Original Equipment Manufacturers requiring precision mechanical production capabilities including close-tolerance machining and electromechanical clean room assembly. Our product lines include equipment for the Semiconductor and Scientific Instrumentation markets. Install and remove mechanical and electrical components in assemblies and sub-assemblies. May troubleshoot failed assemblies to determine corrective action.
Essential Functions and Competencies
• Learns and masters all tasks associated with product assembly that are assigned • Mechanical and electrical aptitude including circuits and general tools, electric static discharge (ESD), torque and strain mechanical properties and understanding of fluid and pneumatic systems • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required • Identifies assembly non-conformance and performs corrective actions • Able to handle changing priorities • Effective communication, both verbal and written • Responds to written and verbal instructions • Able to work overtime as needed • Obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and be willing to cross-train in other areas
Qualifications / Education / Experience
• Uses hand tools, working in a team and support departments to ensure products' timely completion with high quality standards • Performs inspection of own work in immediate work area • Maintains adequate supplies and a neat and orderly work area • Maintains tools and equipment in proper working order • Maintains the security and confidentiality of or customers products and documentation • Involved with product testing • Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations as appropriate • Is cross-trained in all operations and/or is a specialist in at least one of the more involved processes • Works with moderately complex processes and more difficult customer's expectations- able to use more independent judgment with some oversight by supervision • Serves as a mentor to lesser skilled employees • Works on most difficult assemblies and may be consulted for recommendations for process improvements by engineering or management • Recognized as area expert in being able to perform and train in all or specialized production and testing operations • Troubleshoots all levels of problems through testing and makes recommendations for continuous improvement • Able to perform a wide array of testing on most complex product builds • Able to calibrate test equipment as specified by customer requirements • Has wide latitude for using independent judgment with minimal supervisory oversight • Serves as a mentor as well as a back-up to the Team Leader or supervisor in their absence
What would really impress us: • 2- year technical degree (or apprenticeship certificate) • Previous cleanroom experience • Great communication and a service-driven attitude Ability to multi task Comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing environment Someone who is self driven and requires little training
What we need from you: • High-school diploma • Experience on medium to large size electro mechanical assembly including vacuum leak checks
