Primary Purpose of Position:
As part of the USPC International Sales team, this position will assist with the development, delivery, and facilitation of customer and business strategies and plans that maximize volume and profit while supporting the overall USPC International strategy across all channels of distribution (added focus on Intl Custom). Secondary function will be as sales support and operations processing for key projects and initiatives within the International Division. Geography is Global (except North America) - including managing and processing incoming leads, new account set up/engagement, initiating customer compliance procedures, processing customer sample/graphic/data requests, analyzing and creating key account and business reports, managing customer data, managing visitor and meeting arrangements, executing various business support tasks as required (reports, trade, credit memos, price lists, sell sheets)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Sales and Operations
  • Support division sales objectives by executing cross-functional operations/process improvements to drive quality of all international product.
  • Coordinate with the international sales teams to support marketing programs for the region
  • Maximize revenue and margin within the various segments through focus on MDPP
  • Drive new product development process for targets applicable to Channel (ecommerce), segment (Wholesale), and Region (Asia- Global) - with introduction of new designs, packaging and support materials for higher value/higher margin specialty items as part of the
  • Develop effective displays, merchandising and POS material in partnership with local requirements/internal teams
  • Support division sales objectives by executing cross-functional operations/process improvements to drive quality of all international product
  • Provide visibility, messaging and tools for global sales teams to modernize sales materials
  • Deliver accurate forecasting for key customers, and lead subsequent coordination with manufacturing for on-time shipments
  • Support international custom sales with artwork review/contract details/project briefs and approvals.
  • Incoming lead management, processing and international calls: responding to queries received via email, web site or international call line; directing to appropriate sales manager/contact as well as log and track all contact and follow-up information within a master document.
  • Account master: maintain master email and contact database for live accounts, distributors, leads and targets
  • Customer relations: answer product questions and general information, process quality complaints and issue corresponding credit memos; track customer feedback for marketing purposes, process sample requests
  • Quarterly follow-up: lead and order follow up by distributor/direct inquiry by quarter for "lead to sales transition" analysis and activity
  • Trade expense/commissions: confirm against YTD accruals/specific contract requirements, create credit memo, attain both physical and electronic signatures, submit in MEI or to deductions for approval, notify account of deduction or payment
  • Distributor contract file oversight: oversee expiration dates and terms/accruals as well as processing all other rebates and commission-based payments on a customer specific basis.
  • MEI management: enter all yearly and one-time promotions in MEI for customer forecasts and attain necessary approvals in order for each promo to be committed; generate tracking report
  • Execute weekly sales report exhibiting current and pending sales across brands for assigned territories as well as routine and ad hoc reports (booking report, key account analysis, BI Reports on SKUs)
  • Receive and distribute close out lists to sales team
  • Send catalogs/samples/price lists/information sheets/new products as requested of any account manager, sales distributor, or potential customer; pick up / pack / send samples
  • Fulfill presentation requirements by creating customer account overviews that illustrate sales history and current data utilizing charts and graphs
  • Create presentation notebooks with tabs/labels/binder covers and relevant account content as needed
  • Coordinate account visits including making travel arrangements and conference room set-up
  • Assist with the creation of sell sheets and presentations for new products, special packaging, other
  • Maintain and update price lists and update account-specific deviated pricing - coordinate price changes, update deviated pricing history by account, submit master pricing for Data Maintenance with new product launches
  • Coordinate with marketing on catalog format and digital availability/execution
  • Assist sales team with updated product information and distribution to accounts
  • Conduct market research via web-based providers on key countries, products, etc
  • Process credit/debit memos (MEI/Quality/Promo/Commission/Claims/Disposal orders).
  • Direct order/information/process communication with accounts as requested (inside sales function)
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus
  • Four-Six years Sales, Category Management or Project management experience within consumer packaged goods, International Sales experience preferred, Bilingual (Bilingual- English with Mandarin/Cantonese/Japanese) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond to changes in demands and customer needs, accurately and quickly.
  • Working knowledge of INCOTERMS and international transactions/logistics
  • Working knowledge of SAP a plus
  • Working knowledge of CRM or other customer management database (Salesforce) a plus
  • Entrepreneurial spirit combined with the discipline of traditional CPG would provide an ideal profile for a successful candidate.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and influence organizational and internal/external customer direction using market trends, customer needs and internal data; including making and influencing decision-making with limited information
  • Previous experience driving category growth in consumer products in a category with only one, dominant brand.
  • Previous success with trade marketing tools.
  • Proven track record of sales program development and implementation.
  • International / global experience required.
  • Understanding of and experience with traditional distribution networks in Asia is a plus
  • Familiarity with SAP a plus
  • Experience working cross-culturally with good cultural knowledge, insight and understanding
