Leidos currently has an opening for an Intelligence Gaps Analyst to work in the Washington DC area. This is an exciting opportunity to use your analytical experience helping the customer in its mission of national security. In this assignment we provide technical, analytical, management and support services to augment the customer's vital mission.

Primary Responsibilities

You will perform analysis and intelligence research support focused on intelligence gaps and intelligence requirements. Depending upon the specific need of the office, you will focus on topics related to a core analytic mission area, such as nuclear or radiological issues, and/or energy security. The primary effort of the position involves working with analysts to identify trends in information and intelligence gaps; develop, review, and maintain intelligence requirements; track intelligence requirements and gap status; and, initiate and coordinate innovative means for gap closure with analysts and interagency partners. Position may require providing customized briefings and assessments to the senior client's policymakers, and interfacing with other members of the IC and the National Laboratories.

Specific duties of this position include:

  • Serve as a gaps analyst, whose duties include developing and coordinating all-source intelligence requirements that directly support the division's research and analysis to produce finished intelligence products for consumption by client officials, field and laboratory experts, and US IC.
  • Directly interface with analysts and technical experts to produce customized intelligence products and briefings that identify prioritized gaps and trends in gaps, to help improve analytic expertise and detailed knowledge of the global landscape. Inquire with other agency representatives to obtain clarification on reporting, as necessary and coordinate with interagency to obtain additional information, in support of the analysts.

  • Directly interface with analysts and technical experts to produce customized intelligence products and briefings that identify prioritized gaps and trends in gaps, to help improve analytic expertise and detailed knowledge of the global landscape. Inquire with other agency representatives to obtain clarification on reporting, as necessary and coordinate with interagency to obtain additional information, in support of the analysts.
  • Directly interface with DOE/NNSA laboratory experts to develop technically sound and analytically rigorous long and short-term intelligence requirements that draw upon the individual's expertise and external intelligence reporting.
  • Monitor intelligence and open source reporting for relevance to division collection requirements, evaluating effectiveness of requirements.
  • Respond to incoming coordination requests from within client's office and the broader intelligence communities for external collection requirements that overlap the client's equities.
  • Develop materials in support of briefings to senior personnel within the client's area, as well as senior policy customers in the US government and the IC, when needed.
  • Complete individual and team-based tasks from management in support of strategic missions, resulting in both draft and finished products.
  • Attend interagency working group meetings related to mission focus.
  • Initiate and engage with Division leadership, analysts, interagency partners, and collection agencies on development of innovative and highly-targeted collection requirements and opportunities to close priority gaps.
  • Directly interface with client and national laboratory experts to develop technically sound and analytically rigorous long and short-term intelligence requirements that draw upon the individual's expertise and external intelligence reporting.
  • Monitor intelligence and open source reporting for relevance to division collection requirements, evaluating effectiveness of requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA degree and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Be highly organized and able to develop and maintain timelines for conducting reviews, maintenance, updates, and creation of new requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to perform in an outstanding manner and deliver high-quality work products under tight deadlines.
  • Strong transparency and collaboration skills.
  • The ability to write, peer-review, and present a variety of recurring and special reports, messages, briefings, and information papers
  • Proficiency working with databases storing and processing large quantities of information and identifying trends and gaps relevant to the analytic focus area.
  • Proficiency with automated data processing capabilities and their uses including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in collection requirements management or processes preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree; In addition to the aforementioned required qualifications, it is desirable for the candidate to have previous understanding of the Intelligence Community collection capabilities, as well as its organization and missions. List additional skills and experience that is "nice to have" but not required.
