The Director, Business Development role is responsible for business development strategy and execution to support growth of the Financial Service Programs portfolio, including our: Strategy Consulting, Risk Advisory, Compliance Solutions, Technology Innovation, Global investigation and Independent review offerings. This role requires a keen ability to identify business opportunities and influence executive decision makers with deep financial industry experience and a proven ability to be a trusted account executive leader. This role demands an extremely well networked client relationship/business development professional with contacts in the banking, insurance, and capital markets industry. The role focuses on identifying Financial Services clients with anti-money laundry, financial crimes, sanctions, related technology and investigations assistance needs. Responsibility include:
Developing and implementing a comprehensive business development (BD) and marketing plan for Global Financial Services, Investigations and Compliances Segment with key practice leadership
Building relationships and engaging in activity designed to generate qualified leads based on global target company profiles.
Supporting the Financial Service business units by driving pipeline accuracy and developing and supporting their go-to-market strategy around key solutions.
Develop detailed knowledge of Guidehouse solutions and capabilities and match to identified client needs
Supporting global business development outreach initiatives, which will require the BD Director to personally initiate and organize meetings, phone calls and social media outreach with prospective clients, prepare letters, email, and participate in preparation of sales collateral and proposals.
10+ years of progressive strategic sales experience building deep broad C Suite (and their direct reports) network in a financial crimes and management consulting and/ or advisory service organization with emphasis on risk management including:
o Demonstrated experience in business development for sanctions compliance, transaction monitoring and/ or convergence between AML and fraud functions
o Experience and understanding of sales and marketing functions
o Experience in the creation and execution of marketing and sales programs
o Demonstrated strategic selling skills that have delivered outcomes
Demonstrated success with Client Relationships and Business Development.
o 8+ years creating new client relationships and developing/maintaining on-going relationships (selling $5M+/annually) for Financial Management Consulting organizations (preferably AML and Financial Crimes)
o Demonstrated experience working with Financial Global Investigations and Compliance market and understanding of clients' critical imperatives at the product, business unit and enterprise levels to find need, find solutions and drive closure to projects that result in yr. over yr. revenue
Strong executive presence and professional image and presentation (advanced use of Microsoft tools)
Demonstrated expertise understanding of the challenges of the financial services industry globally and the essential elements of transforming it to meet those challenges.
Able to travel per client and organizational demands.
Proficient in use of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and the Internet
Ability to travel extensively 60% post COVID
Graduate of an accredited four year college; MBA preferred
