Design Build, Construction Management and General Contracting firm, recognized as an emerging leader in Educational, Municipal and Commercial construction

Description

  • Sources leads, screens bid requests for best match for company
  • Prepares bids for commercial and multi-family projects typically ranging $1M - $10M toward annual revenues greater than $30M at acceptable margins
  • Attends pre-bid meetings, conducts site inspections, evaluates specifications, prepares RFIs and collects adequate data to determine bid/no-bid decision with managers
  • Stays informed of most current product, systems knowledge, industry practices and technology tools
  • Conducts take-offs, evaluates specifications, considers past performance, sources subcontractor bids and develops preliminary project schedules generating accurate and complete competitive bids
  • Teams with project manager in the negotiating buy-outs and most favorable contract terms
  • Facilitates pre-construction process from award through hand-off to assigned project team
  • Ensures up to date, complete and accurate records, budgets, schedules and entries into project accounting and management systems
  • Prepares technical writing sections of proposals and professional, effective business presentations, correspondence and reports
  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with industry professionals, suppliers, general contractors, subcontractors and public agencies
  • Exercises care, good judgment and risk reduction practices to protect interest of company and reduce potential liabilities
  • Participates in the sourcing, selection, training and supervision of other staff as assigned

Profile

  • College degree required (in construction management, engineering or architecture preferred)
  • OSHA 30 Construction Safety preferred
  • 5+ years' experience
  • Proficient at understanding and translating construction plans, drawings, specifications and generating accurate take-offs and bids
  • Proficient understanding of building codes, construction divisions, developing schedules, project critical paths, material procurement, etc.
  • Excellent math, formulation, mechanical aptitude and configuration skills
