Electrical Hardware Engineering Design Team Lead

Would you like to work for an organisation who are delivers end-to-end support to over 50 per cent of the Royal Navy's surface fleet? We currently have a vacancy for an Electrical Hardware Engineering Design Team Lead at our site in Portsmouth.

As an Electrical Hardware Engineering Design Team Lead, you will be leading a team of Electrical & Mechanical Hardware Design Engineers working across the engineering lifecycle, from requirements capture, detailed design, qualification, delivery and support. You will be providing design leadership for a range of electrical control and combat systems cabinets.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a challenging and fast paced environment where no two days are the same.

Your main responsibilities as an Electrical Hardware Engineering Design Team Lead will involve:

Developing complex custom product design to meet challenging requirements
Growing and developing a sustainable product supply capability
Demonstrating capability in delivering complex military products to the highest specifications, providing scope for growth with the success of the team

Lead the Electrical Hardware Engineering Design Team in:

Providing engineering governance and technical authority
Managing the processes of bid activity, requirement analysis and estimates
Controlling quality, cost and schedule
Design and integration deliverables
Qualification and verification strategy
Manufacturing support
Installation and commissioning support

Your skills and qualifications as an Electrical Hardware Engineering Design Team Lead:

Experienced Engineering Leader with substantial electrical/technical product delivery leadership to deliver electrical hardware design capability, accountable for quality, schedule and budget
Act as Technical Authority for the product within the scope of supply, accountable for product integrity and safety
Experience of operating in a defence or high integrity product delivery environment
Proven experience of relevant industry standards
Experience with all phases of the engineering lifecycle and configuration control
Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels, leadership of design reviews
Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience in relevant engineering discipline
