Our client an electrical construction company seeks an experience Director of Operations. The Company has experienced fast growth and is poised to continue on this trajectory. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong leader looking to be a change maker with a great TEAM.
You will be the part of the company's executive team and responsible for the efficiency of the business. The Directors role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the President. The goal of the Director is to drive extensive and sustainable growth, profits into the company future.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee and coordinate construction activities and operations with VP and project managers, schedule site visits with teams of all ongoing projects as required.
  • Formulate short- and long-term goals with the ability to execute these in an effective manner with teams and President
  • Implement a strong project turn over meeting and close out process for each project on a monthly, quarterly/yearly basis and measure overall lessons learned and profitability.
  • Ensure complete and accurate job scheduling and completion of projects.
  • Lead, manage, develop talent, and coach our teams as required
  • Establish goals for departments and execute them effectively.
  • Breakdown barriers that exist internally to company and teams. Need to be an effective leader and decisive in decision making.
  • P & L responsibility for all construction and service projects including GL items.
  • Coordinate, set up, and integrate pre fabrication, pre assembly and manufacturing (kitting) processes for construction. Utilizing kitting assemblies and processes as part of integrating in all construction activities.
  • Oversee the small projects and electrical services department and be responsible to build service sector of the company to be top level high performing and profitable departments
  • Risk management of overall company
  • Oversee all PURCHASING procedures and activities at both locations. Mentor and help integrate team to utilize all required technology and software presently in place (CF Data)
  • Work with Project Executives/ Division Managers and project management teams to implement PRE-FAB opportunities to increase quality control and overall productivity.
  • Must be able to work with and be responsible for consultants in guiding and managing special projects IE: oversee ongoing project management procedures and implementation (Maxim Consulting)
  • Strong leadership skills with regard to customer relations.
  • Ability to lead multiple locations and divisions.

  • Set up proven processes and procedures for the overall construction business activities including project management.
  • Strategic/tactical Planning and Execution with teams.
  • Develop and manage overall construction company. Thru Budgets and planning,
  • Work closely with President and controller to develop financial modeling to support operational decision making and strategies.
  • Work with controller utilizing the CF data accounting system to produce productivity reports which can be used to manage overall company/projects.
  • Work with controller and HR manager to implement and design companies' performance and profit-sharing plan, simplifying the formulas, and increase employees understanding of the company's profit sharing/bonus and performance evaluation programs.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications include:
  • Strong understanding of technology (IT) and how it applies in overall operation and construction.
  • Strong understanding of P & L and job costing and overall project management responsibility. Including understanding of GL details,
  • Previous experience in construction (preferably electrical) industry preferred.

  • Ability to manage a large staff and schedule meetings as necessary
  • Strong understanding of all types of computer technology and EXCEL spreadsheets.
  • Quality control experience
  • Previous management experience with a team of direct reports
