Kforce's client, a growing Financial Institution in the Phoenix, AZ metro area is seeking a Director of Corporate Compliance. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager. Summary: The candidate will be responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance management throughout the organization, as well as functions performed by high risk third-party servicers. The Director will be responsible for monitoring and advising management on Supervision and Regulation Letters from the Federal Reserve Bank, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and other regulatory guidance and regulation applicable to this Financial Institution. Ensuring that the SL's are coordinated throughout the bank and incorporated into applicable policies and procedures. The Director, in conjunction with Legal, will be responsible for responding to proposed changes to regulations. Corporate compliance is responsible for reviewing and approving customer-facing documents and communications, as well as designing and monitoring completion of required staff training programs. The Director leads compliance initiatives and partners closely with all departments of the bank including Financial Crime Compliance/BSA, Product, Branch Operations, Treasury Management, Credit Administration, Lending, and other corporate support groups to ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, and programs are in place and functioning to meet regulatory requirements including leading the second line of defense in determining adherence to the policies and procedures. This person will be responsible for advising the Chief Risk Officer and executive management with regard to the interpretation of, Supervision and Regulation Letters from the FRB, CFPB and regulatory guidance and regulation applicable to the Bank. This role develops and recommends policies, procedures, and program enhancements to meet regulatory obligations.

Job Requirements:


  • BS degree from a college or university and 10 or more years of related experience; Work related experience must consist of at least 7-10 years of experience in the financial services industry in a corporate setting or operating bank environment focused on banking operations, risk management, and/or audit or compliance functions
  • Expert knowledge of state and federal banking compliance rules and regulations, corporate financial statement production and analysis, as well as risk management methodologies
  • Expert knowledge of banking products, bank operational policies and practices, as well as banking regulatory agencies structures, practices, and span of control
  • A strong background in consumer and commercial lending is required
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required; Strong visual arts skills or aesthetics required
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; Proven ability to create momentum, foster organizational change and work with other members of management
  • Previous experience supervising a small to medium group of employees (2-12) required
  • Experience with the development & execution of a Bank appropriate Corporate Compliance Program which includes the following: Implements the strategic vision and tactical operating procedures for the corporate compliance function; Develops policies and programs, and provides leadership to the Bank regarding regulatory compliance; Assists the ERMC to ensure that all new lines of business, services and products, and accompanying documents and activities are evaluated and reviewed prior to implementation
