Our client a top solar developer and constructor is seeking a Construction Supervisor to help manage solar sites in Maine. Candidates must have a background in commercial construction, management of sub contractors and have strong civil knowledge.They are starting to have a much bigger footprint in Maine. They are currently looking for 3 Construction Supervisors to oversee and monitor their civil work from now until January 2021. This is the first step with their projects up there and the work is going to be done in the fields, clearing land/farm land and open fields and building roads. The electrical work will start in March/April.Construction Supervisors/Site Supers are responsible for managing the day to day operations/administrative duties on site. A typical day will start with them on site in the trailer and managing the construction of the project. They will be reporting directly into the construction manager for the projects and will be responsible for sending them daily reports of progress and safety, managing the sub vendors on site and working with the foreman from their sub vendors.Primary duties:- Enforce safety/regulatory policies and procedures- Set daily/weekly productivity standards for contractors and subs- Develop 3 week look ahead schedule and work with CM to ensure schedule is met- Coordinate deliveries or equipment with logistics team and subs- Reviews plans and specificsMUST HAVES:- Construction management experience - commercial civil- Must be able to read drawings and blueprints- Manage sub vendors- Knowledge of PDF, word and excel (Microsoft Office). MUST be computer savvy- Independent, great communication skills, and reliableNICE TO HAVES:- Solar experience- OSHA 10 or 30- Electrician/electrical experience- Technical degree in Engineering or Construction ManagementPerformance Expectations:No formal training, but they will fill out the construction work book and stick to the construction schedule. The safety program/standards is the safety manual that they have to follow.1ST DAY/WEEK:The expectation is that they will hit the ground running. With that said, they will be taught the ins and outs of the company and their projects. This will be done on the fly and a lean as they go. Ideally they would like candidates to start a week before construction so they can get on site and help with prep and have more time to learn the company and project.Work Environment:Work environment is a solar construction site with a company trailer. On any given day there will be a number of civil sub contractors on site. They won't be responsible for visiting every site every day, they will likely just have to visit each site 1-2 times a week and rotate as needed. There will be some driving, and they are able to expense any miles over 500 a week. No company vehicle.Hours are primarily Monday to Friday with a minimum of 40 hours a week (standard construction hours 7-3:30. Most of these projects will have OT as needed, some will have OT required and will be 10 hour days.SITES:They have 3 regions and they need 1 super for each region:- Northern - MiloThe person who will be working in Milo needs to be the most tenured and self-sufficient. This is more heavy civil where there is a lot of wooded and rocky land and it's the most complicated site. It's also the furthest away and if something goes wrong, it will be tough to get someone else there.- Middle - Lisbon, Rumford, Livermore and maybe West Paris- Southern - Gorham, Limerick, and LebanonThe middle and southern regions are more light civil and farm land.Dress code is construction attire-jeans and t shirt with proper PPE.**About Aerotek:****Your success starts with the right career opportunity.
