We're looking for a Construction Inspector Technician to be based in the Northwest Oregon area who is excited about working on projects supporting our clients business and business practices. Join us and youll have the chance to work on construction projects including roads, rapid transit, bridge, as well as industrial and commercial facilities. Youll be accountable for working with contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality compliance, reviewing plans and specifications, assisting in Turn Over Package requirements and development. Youll also provide on-site assistance monitoring and visually inspecting material at receipt and installation. Heres what youll need:•High School Diploma or equivalent certified technical training required•At least 2 years of experience working in the transportation construction inspection industry•Knowledge of construction including material, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements. •Perform calculations using algebra, trigonometry and geometry. •Able and willing to work day or night shifts and/or flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project requirements.
Ideally, youll also have:•Current, or ability to acquire Oregon DOT construction inspection certification.•Strong communication skills both verbal and written •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills •Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas •Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base •Ability to work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams •Passion for construction of infrastructure and buildings
Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
