Position: Business Development Manager Location: Global Laboratory Services, Inc. / Wilson, North Carolina Status: Full Time Salaried Date: July 19, 2021Position Description:The Business Development Manager builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.Minimum requirements:B.S. degree preferably in Chemistry, Business, Public Relations, or related with more than 5 years of sales experience.Experience working with a contract analytical laboratory helpful.Excellent organization/multitasking, communication and analytical skills.Professionalism & networking skills.Flexibility and willingness to accommodate occasional travel (approximately 25%).Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.Research and build relationships with new clients.Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.Set up meetings between client decision makers and company's practice leaders/Principals.Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.Achieve agreed upon growth and profit targets.Provide input into pricing strategy.Contribute towards building a market database, including competitive intelligence.Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts and quotations; integrating contract requirements with business operations.Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light.Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company's people and capabilities.Understand the company's goal and purpose so that will continue to enhance the company's performance.Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.Plan approaches and pitches. Works with a team to develop proposals that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.Provide customer service in conjunction with existing staff.
