Job Summary:

As the Building Maintenance Manager for Mount Snow you'll be responsible for leading a team of approximately 15 to ensure the optimal utilization of the resort facilities, including but not limited to several lodges both off and on the hill including restaurant and retail store environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the safety, performance and results of the team.
  • Responsible for organizing and delegating the workload of the team.
  • Follow all safety standards and procedures and perform duties in a manner to maximize safety and minimize risk to self and others.
  • Ensures proper functioning of facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance.
  • Assesses and evaluates the physical space requirements of the organization and recommends plans to meet needs.
  • Managing the work request system for the department and assigning work orders based upon needs and priorities.
  • Planning for capital projects which includes researching pricing and materials.
  • Work within the operating budgets of all assigned functions/projects.
  • Oversees the purchase, distribution, dispatch, use, and inventory control of a wide variety of supplies, materials, tools, equipment and vehicles.
  • Manage the administrative functions of the building maintenance programs for all buildings, i.e. painting, carpet replacement and window and floor cleaning.
  • Maintain all records and assist the resort managers preparing for inspections conducted by external agencies including annual fire extinguisher inspections.
  • Prepare a variety of written administrative/operations reports and records related to staffing, payroll, inventory and project costs.
  • Deal regularly with customers, department heads, state, fire and safety agencies, outside vendors, and contractors and others outside the company to coordinate activities/projects, assist with emergencies or other special needs/problems and exchange information.
  • During winter, plan, coordinate and supervise daily operations of snow removal for walking spaces, including doorways, sidewalks, ramps, and fire escapes. Plan ahead for impending storms and make sure materials and supplies are on and ready, including snow blowers.
  • Working on and leading various building maintenance, repair and construction tasks.

Job Requirements:

Required:

  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience with financials including PNL interpretation
  • Ability to read and interpret Blue Prints
  • Full, clean Driving License

Preferred:

  • OSHA certification (training can be provided upon employment)
  • A trade such as carpentry, plumbing or electrical
  • Skiing/Riding ability
