Job Description:

Blend or mix raw ingredients to batch specifications. Operate blending equipment to achieve proper mixing. Perform cleaning/sanitation within batching and processing areas. Must be able to work 10 hours a day lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job Requirements:
  • Observe and listen to equipment in order to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks, bearings, beat blades or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes
  • Maintain a safe & clean work environment & departmental housekeeping standards
  • Obtain the blends and/or packaging sheets & verify the correct organisms, the correct carriers, and the proper equipment for the task
  • Fill a part-time pre-batch blending operator position for Product Finishes Division
  • Assist in other production and packaging functions
  • Staging of all blending batches
  • Using a computerized inventory management system to select orders and input data Learning and complying with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in the food industry
  • Know stock limits and be familiar with stock order procedure
  • Supporting the plant's strategic goals by providing leadership and direction to Planer Mill, Dry Kilns, Shipping, Scales, Construction and Property Conservation, and other departments
  • Keep blending technician and Production Manager informed about problems, potential issues and status of work in progress
  • Perform blending activities and function as assigned to achieve/exceed production targets
  • Disassemble and clean equipment and production room per SOP regulations
  • Understand the product flow process and procedures, and ensure consistent, efficient, and effective workflow through the department
  • Filling all batch containers to the proper weights and in proper containers and marking all containers with necessary LPN labels
  • Perform minor or basic troubleshooting
  • Operate a forklift in order to transport containers of raw materials and finished product
  • Placing materials on racks, shelving, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code
  • Ensure training procedures are up-to-date and documented and continue development for all supervisors and leads
  • Monitor the quality of work and provide direction to team members to maximize efficiency
  • Set up, operate, and tend equipment that mixes and cooks ingredients in the manufacturing of food products, according to formulas or recipes
