We manage T-Mobile's financial data and utilize an end-to-end view of transaction and data flows to drive efficiency and control throughout the company. The Accounting Manager, Prepaid Revenue, is a highly visible and impactful individual contributor position within the Controller's organization. This position will collaborate across the enterprise, partnering closely with Project Management, Technology, Marketing, FP&A, Legal, Tax, External Reporting, Accounting Policy, and other teams. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Prepaid Accounting, and is responsible for managing the life cycle of new products, services, and business initiatives that impact Prepaid Revenue Accounting, including the Metro by T-Mobile brand. From concept to assessment, developing requirements, through to testing and launch, this position will be engaged in designing sustainable processes and accounting system solutions. Additionally, this role will lead team-wide initiatives and process improvements and will support operational month-end financial close. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in operational accounting and project management. To support projects, the candidate will become a subject matter expert in the Prepaid Accounting space with an understanding of transactional flows and corresponding journal entries through various systems along with financial risks and controls. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience; public accounting experience preferred. Proven ability to manage projects. Revenue recognition and wireless industry experience preferred. Understanding of large-scale data mining, automation, and data visualization reporting tools (Essbase, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Jira) is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or equivalent preferred. The successful candidate will possess the following attributes: Broad understanding of accounting theory, current accounting issues, accounting systems and internal controls. Ability to make sound, fact-based decisions and recommendations, including balancing the needs of cross-functional business partners. Experience in successfully partnering with IT on delivering system solutions and enhancements. Solid track record of crafting a plan, leading multiple projects, and delivering on team objectives. Effectively collaborates and communicates with all levels of management and cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and visual. Excellent attention to details. Thrives in a high pressure, fast-paced environment. Lead Prepaid Accounting participation in the enterprise project life cycle. Collaborate and effectively partner with cross-functional teams to assess impacts, develop requirements, coordinate test plans, and ensure validation prior to launch. Create, maintain, and distribute comprehensive accounting documentation for projects that will serve as a reference for operational teams, financial reporting, SOX controls, and internal/external auditors. Identify, analyze, and document gaps in project solutions, provide recommendations, and participate in decision-making process. Support the monthly financial close process for prepaid service revenue. Prepare and/or review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and disclosure schedules in accordance with T-Mobile accounting policies (both US GAAP and IFRS). Maintain knowledge of current accounting standards and SEC reporting requirements to ensure proper application in T-Mobile's close process. Perform technical accounting research and facilitate discussions with the Accounting Policy team to reach alignment on accounting treatment. Communicate regularly with operational business partners to identify issues and areas for operational improvement.
